I twisted it around in my head trying to figure out how I could do a better job of coping with the situation. But I still didn't leave. That made him furious. At one point I said I didn't care what he did when we weren't together, but I didn't like being around him when he was so checked out. He said I was trying to control him. I really struggled with the whole issue, because I loved him.

And so far I haven't met them through the clubs and hobbies I already have (which is okay with me, because i'm there to enjoy myself and not entertain someone). I no longer am in classes like I once was in college. My grad school friends have friends who I'm beyond not interested in, or who are married. So unfortunately, tinder is still a thing in my life. Bars aren't really fun like they once were, and in this town they're generally full of college students anyways. I don't meet them at work. So you tell me what tools I should be using to meet men.

But I think you subconsciously feel more heavily invested in this woman because, on the surface, she is the reason you left your marriage and family. I understand you feel your marriage was long over by time this woman resurfaced and gave you the final kick in the pants to dissolve your marriage.

If you do think you could get past that then great! You are just being honest with what you are looking for and everyone has there preferences. I agree that maybe you should at least give her one more date just to be sure there is no connection. But by no means should you settle! If such things repeatedly turns you off like her looks and you know you wont be able to get past that then no she just isn't for you. I don't find you shallow at all.
