I think the bridesmaid was giving you the heads up, because this has done this many times before. IMO, this behavior isn't new.

But I don't buy that you don't think that your BF is an extention or reflection of you and you don't look at your friends or family for social validation of who you're dating - everybody does and in that sense you're still objectifying him as being and extended part of you. You can have all those other reasons and they are fine and good in fact.

Keep it light and friendly. Your just dating, have fun! I think you saying lets make a date is implying you do want to see him again. Don't mention the doubts.

Why constantly tell me he want to see me, yet, behave like I owed him? He only took me out to dinner once and that was on our second date, yet it was like I was suppose to be grateful that he even treated, never mind i trekked a one and a half train ride to see him for two hours. His words never matched his action.

Do you suggest all married people get rid of their phones, too? Before the advent of the internet, I would estimate that about 98% of affairs involved the use of telephones.
