After all, if the guy himself doesn't think that much of himself...how could you possibly think that much of him yourself. The bottom line is he considers your friends to be a threat to him. What he doesn't know is when you finally pick up on the fact that he feels so insecure and has such a poor self image, you will start thinking less of him too.

Ironically she makes a point of saying that she is all about "change and growth", however my view is that from the chaos that has always surrounded her in love and vocation, she is all about always changing everything around her, so that she herself does not actually need to change. My take is probably the same as others' - she was subconsciously looking for any reason to stop counseling because it was making her face some unpleasant things about herself and her behavior that she is afraid to face or change.
