At least I have gone from a completely helpless lack of control to some measure of control over what will be happening soon. I did put together a plan of action for when I face her.

If it's the first, then yes, being committed to someone means you are no longer 'free' to date others... if you feel that you will lose the freedom to be you by being committed to someone then you've got it wrong. but you made a choice to be committed to that someone which means you care enough for and about them to not WANT to date others. And I've heard from others at the event that their matches never contacted them. One of whom I've since been on a proper date with (for more info see my recent post). The other match never contacted me. He messaged me within 10 mins of getting the formal notification that we had matched which I appreciated.
